Raid Event Changes

So, today I woke up to find myself horribly annoyed that Mobage decided to change the raid to disallow players from not accepting boss rewards to keep their bosses low and farm green shards.

The first thing:
They claim that it is the result of 'server stability' but I can 100% assure you that is complete bullshit. I know it's complete bullshit because a huge number of players, myself included, are sitting on over 500 gifts of rally points from previous raid events in our mailboxes but that's never been a blip on their radar.

A few days into the event they realize that players have managed to figure out how to farm PP even though they removed the PP rewards from red and purple shards to prevent players from from farming PP.

This change is just annoying. It's another way to make the game unplayable if you don't spend money on it.

The second thing:
Really Mobage? Your number one priority is keeping people from farming PP? Not that wicked exploit that allows players to push bosses insane without using any PP?

I am tempted to just announce the damn exploit to break their game.

But I'm bigger than that. Not much. But slightly. Not only did that not fix a SHIELD Training exploit that allowed players to attack without attack power, but they don't fix another exploit that top players are using to attack without using PP.

That's how you know that a game company is fail. Their primary focus is spent on punishing casuals, not punishing exploiters.

*Note on that last comment. The game designers of the game are not fail. They did a really damn good job. Their bosses, the guys who decide what to focus on and how to monetize are fail. Seriously, what a bunch of twats.*

  1. I'm amazed that they still haven't pushed an emergency maintenance for the glitch. It not only breaks this raid event but also the next event as well, I'll likely be facing guys with hundreds more leftover PPs and kits that than those that didn't exploit(me). I would think that it would hurt their bottom line.....

I am quietly hoping that by banning the exploiters, I'll jump from the 20,000's to the top 30.

    1. If they don't take care of the people who exploited, they will pretty much ruin the next SHIELD enforcement training for everybody that didn't cheat.

  2. Has anyone that knows of these "exploits" sent them a inquiry message about how it works? This is the first I've heard of this, so I have no idea what you are talking about.

But I seriously f*cking hate cheaters and exploiters, just play the game it's meant to be played, sigh.

But, I dunno, if Mobage doesn't know about it how can they fix it, but you would think they would know right?!

I saw this nerf to low boss green shard farming coming, it was not what they wanted us to do when they made these changes, so it was a matter of time until they figured it out and made some BS excuse to why.

As always, love your new posts Lucarda, hope you don't leave WoH, I for one still love this game alot. Losing elites like yourself is not good for the community.

    1. I'm not leaving. The fact is, Mobage card games are a lot like pizza, even when they're bad, they're still pretty good.

I still actively play Rage of Bahamut and Marvel War of Heroes. Even after Rages horribly economic collapse.

Several people have messaged them about the glitch. It has also been mentioned in the same places that mentioned how to farm PP. I can only assume Mobage decided to ignore it. After all, they ignored the SHIELD Enforcement Training exploit.

  3. I guess a lot of people knows about this glitch already. I wonder if their remedy would be to:

    1) Ignore it
    2) Restart the event
    3) Selective banning for exploiters
    4) Total ban for all who exploit

    1. The real shame about this is that if they don't do anything, there are players who will HAVE to start exploiting or lose the Venoms they rightly deserve. Since mobage isn't putting the game into maintenance or power banning people what are they supposed to do? Have faith that if they don't exploit and get pushed out of their top spots as a result that they will get their reward?

I wouldn't have that type of faith.

  4. Kinda disappointing. This was a good game to begin with, but greed and glitch have to destroy it.

I am of the opinion it is very hard to contain this glitch now. This is my first time playing this kind of apps game, and I am pretty interested to see what are the possible remedies to it.

Since you have many experience in gaming, what do you think they will do?

  5. This one really sucks. My alliance is divided between those that have used the exploit and those that don't.
Those that haven't used the exploit are up in arms (me included). A lot of hard work goes out the window when you drop rank faster than you can gain it back.
Those that have defend it (rightfully so) because if you don't, you won't get your coveted Venom. Thanks an effing lot, Mobage.

  6. Looks like they caught on...blitz attack has been temporarily disabled.

  7. Noticed my alliance rank went up dramatically and found four people in the alliance who apparently were exploiters; as someone who didn't know/didn't look. Nice to see I went from top in the alliance in ranking points to someone who has four times mine.

    1. Glad I didn't buy any power packs. I'd be really upset if I had. Very curious to see how Mobage handles this...

  8. They can seriously ban players who use glitches?! That seems like the game's fault, and its an incentive for Mobage to stay on top of things. Some people might not even realize the glitch at first. Oh well.

    1. You know, I really hate people who act like somehow they're in the right for taking advantage of something that is blatantly wrong.

Do you know what happens when a bank makes an error and you try to pass it off as 'their fault'. YOU GET CHARGED WITH THEFT.

Do you know what happened to people in Guild Wars 2 the first week that the game released and players found a way to make high level weapons through a miscalculation of the game designer? Hundreds of accounts were banned, permanently, without recourse. That was after spending $40 on the game.

Just because somebody else makes an error DOES NOT give you the right to capitalize on it and honestly, I wish game companies would grow some balls and come down with the harshest penalty possible on people who exploit them, because they RUIN the game.

    2. All valid comments, as usual Lucarda.

For the record, I did not use the glitch, nor was I was aware one existed until Mobage announced the maintenance. My comment was just to say that some people are new to online gaming community and may not be familiar with (or take as seriously) the commonly accepted netiquette, so to speak.

I agree with your logic and I respect your blog. I think, however, some people may have never heard of a ban or be familiar with what the expectation is on glitches. Not everyone has common sense, and I can see a lot of casual players just getting caught up in the moment. All I'm saying is I'm not sure everyone is not doing it as maliciously (realizing the full effect it has on other players) as one might think.

Either way, I agree that it is unfair. Hope this makes a little sense and doesn't alientate any readers. I saw your most recent post and hope it wasn't a direct response to my noob comment here.

  9. I hope that Mobage does /something/ to make up for the way the glitch skewed the ratings. The one exploit user in my alliance now has the highest rating in the group by far.

I also don't see why they're making so much effort to alienate players.

  10. Hi, Lucarda. I like all your articles and enjoy playing WoH. I'm just a casual player but have invested a lot in this game. I didn't even knew there was an exploit and still can't understand how they do to exploit, didn't even know the exploit in the last SHIELD Training. So yes I'm upset that for people who play the game they way it's meant to be played be in the rut because of people who exploit it, though I did in the last raid event use one raid card to fight over and over again which I found out myself by just simple logic on how best to beat the boss. As I mentioned I'm a casual gamer so I was never in my mind thought that this act is exploiting or not since it is within the game rules. But if there is a bug that player can use to exploit, for me that is just mean. I hope Mobage deal with this right by those players that play the game fairly and not make decision based on profit.

    1. It looks like mobage has removed the points gained while using the bug from most players.

Personally, I think that's being too easy on them but oh well.

  11. Hi, Lucarda.
I need a suggestion: in this event i've earned 1384490pt and i'm 8636, how many point i needs for stay under 10000 position? I've have only 10pp at time.
Are enough or is better don't use they?
    Thank you.

    1. You should be pretty safe under 10,000 but don't quote me on that. I would check back the last 3 hours of the event. If you are at about 9500 or better during the last 3 hours you should be safe. That way you have a buffer even if you start losing 100 rank per hour.

    2. Yesterday i forgot to mention that i'm living in italy, at the end of event here was the 6:00 am (^^'). For us in europe is very difficult play the game in the last hours of an event... this night i've set an alarm at 4:00 am for my last raid (made 40000pt , before this my rank was 9300).
      Never again. <_<
I hope that my efforts will be awarded :D
Thank you soo much, great Blog for support MWoH players ;)

  12. Man I have no clue about the exploits at all until i read this. =.= I hope i can still stay within 40000 for an exile card. Gosh... Morbage have pretty shitty customer service, but this is such a good game though, hopefully this doesnt waste my investment. speaking of the game, the one thing that annoys me the most with the cards is that they actually state that X-23 is a VILLAIN! what the... I read all X-23 comic and that is BULLCRAP!
