SHIELD Combat Readiness Training

SHIELD Combat Readiness Training Marvel War of Heroes introduced a new 'mini event' to substitute for the previous 'assignment' mini events that normally prefaced the large Raid/Shield Events, and its pretty awesome.

Shield Combat Readiness Training allows players to engage in a mini combat free for all to gain shards that can be traded in for rally points, silver, cards for the upcoming event, and even Ability ISOs.

There are three different options for Trading in Shards; 5, 10, 100.

As you move up in number of shards, you gain access to better rewards. Of course the downside is that you still have a pretty substantial chance of getting Rally Points or Silver...neither of which are really sought after.

What's the Best Trade In?

I believe the 10 Shard Trade in is the best value, and here's why. Although 100 Shard trade in doubles the chance of getting Sif and Hercules as well as introduces the ability ISO-8, players still have almost the same chance of getting the rally points and silver as they did before.

So, lets say that you have a 2% Chance at Hercules on a 10 shard trade in. Now, you do that trade in 10 times. Since each time its calculated individually it isn't a 20% chance at getting him, but its something around 17% of getting him.

Now, lets say you have 2x the chances on the 100 shard trade in + the Ability ISO chance. So lets say Ability ISO is 2% and 4% Hercules. That's a 6% chance (although 1 of those chances is 2x Hercules) on 1 draw with 100 shards

The absence of Hercules in the 5 shard pack makes them pointless.

Now, if the chance is literally based on the reward selections (which I doubt, but hey, who knows?)

There is a 3/16 chance of getting Hercules or Ability ISO-8 out of the 100 Shard Exchange.
There is a 1/16 chance of getting Hercules out of the 10 Shard Exchange.
There is a 1/11 chance of getting Sif out of the 5 Shard Exchange. (No Hercules. There is a 1/16 chance of getting Sif out of 10 Shard Exchange and 2/16 chance of getting Sif out of 100 Shard Exchange)

This means that over 100 Shards you have 10 1/16 chances at Hercules using the 10 shard exchange, or 3/16 chances of Hercules or Ability ISO on the 100 Shard Exchange. Take your pick (the losing rewards are way better with the 100 Shard Packs unless you get 100k silver like me)

In the end, its your choice, but I prefer my odds with the 10 Shards.

Combat Grades

Interesting. But I fail to get the point of them. They don't give an increase to shards. In fact, as you increase your rank you will be pitted against people with higher rank as well meaning that winning will become more difficult.

If there was some final ranking reward or players were given more shards per attack when they increase in rank, I could see a purpose, but in the current inception I don't really see a point. Kind of nice to have a rank though.

Participate

In the end, this event gives you the ability to get free stuff for minimal effort. Whether you are a new player or a veteran, don't worry about losing, participate. The only way you could lose during this mini event is by not playing.

  1. So if I get a couple Sif should I boost and master them for the next raid event and fuse them? Or leve them mastered and boosted

    1. If you don't have the better raid cards I would suggest getting them M/M.

  2. Off topic. I'm still totally oblivious at what cards in WoH are worth. Someone is offering to trade me 2 rares evolved to their +form (and from what I can see, at least one wasn't maxed before evolving and the other is only maxed to lvl 10 after evolving), against my SR Black Leopard Black Panther. So, is that a good deal or should I refuse?

    1. Rares are worth virtually nothing. With that in mind, I wouldn't make that trade. But on the other hand, it's probably just going to be sitting there. I would think you could at least get a few proper evo rares for it though.

  3. Hi. Can you predict the extra % damage of the Raider cardsnfor the upcoming event? Well at least for the cat, sents, sif and herc. Is it likely that Sents willnbe like emmas with 600%, sif for 400% and hercs for 900% (post-fusion). Thanks!

    1. I don't believe Hercs will be 900% post fuse. Its a reward card for a mini event, not a card pack card.

I think that it may be Sentinel is 600% and Herc is 700%. That is my guess on those two anyway.

  4. Hi again Lucarda!
I have a couple questions (off topic), maybe you can help me.
Q1: do you know any good forum for MWoH?
Q2: Trade value for Annihilus? I am receiving a lot of trades for him but I am really lost. I am also trying to look for another one to fuse. What should I be offering for it?

Congrats again for your blog! I read all your articles :)

    1. The only 'ok' forum for the game is Neoseeker but its pretty much filled with people selling cards for real money and zero help. It's a sad excuse for a community forum.

Annihilus was 10PP last I checked. I know somebody who traded a Sentinel straight up for one. Problem is Annihilus is a slightly weaker Jugg.

  5. so u should max and fuze the raider cards? or just fuze. cuz if u must max and fuze. that would take away time silver and cards for main cards. and they dont realky give u time in between to do that

    1. When I used to be short on Silver and cards I simply fused them and maxed the final form. You lose quite a bit of effectiveness but saves you a lot of time and money.

Now days, I max and fuse but only if the car is the SR or higher Raider Card. If it's a Rare one I just fuse.

But I generally end up borrowing the highest end Raider cards from people for a few hours to secure my rank.

    2. I've already maxed/fused one set of Sentinels. Should I bother doing so with the other set I received? As far as I can tell, having a second raider card would only save me a few AP per attack, but maybe my math is wrong.

    3. It does only save a few AP, but that adds up. As long as your not strapped for cash I see no harm in doing it.

  6. I have a question about purchasing card packs - with the Valentines packs now running and the Training packs usually running - if I only have enough coins to get the first level of these rotating bundles, is it better to just buy the 100 coin Ultimate cards in the Basic menu?

    1. Personally, those valentines packs don't have very good cards as far as I saw.

I would recommend waiting until the Raider Cards are in the packs and purchasing then. If you're really lucky you could get a good raider card that will sell for high.

  7. Hi Lucarda. This is off-topic and I know you will respond so might as well try and ask. According to Jeenx's guide, the value of Phoenix has dropped to 20-25. What would the value of a proper fused UR+ Phoenix be? I'm currently confused, because I'm trying to obtain one, and I'm worried that I'm offering too much. Will it be fair to trade my m/m base SSR Ghost Rider (valued 35-40) and an Ability boom (valued 20-25 atm) for 1x UR+ Phoenix Force?
    Thank you and more power!

    1. God, please avoid mentioning Jeenx's guide on my site at all. Not only do I have a deep seeded hatred for Neoseeker but that guide causes so many headaches its stupid. The guide is based purely off experience in his/her trade group. Any card less than the premium cards have horribly deflated values because of the fact nobody in her trade group NEEDs them.

So of course Phoenix Force is only 20-25PP in his/her trade group because NOBODY in his/her trade group needs it. Of course, he/she says that's what its worth and the entire market price drops on it 'because Jeenx said'

I still have seen people paying 25-30PP for Phoenix. So yes, SSR GR and and Ability Boom would be worth 1x UR+ Phoenix Force. But because of that dumb ass guide that does more harm than help to the community asshats will sit around feeling they should have gotten 10 more PP out of it.

So I say trade for it, but I'm sure somebody will say 'damn man, that's a stupid trade, GR is 40 and Booms are 25 and Phoenix is only worth 50'.

    2. Where's the "Like" button? ;) I have a alliancemate who cites Jeenx's guide almost daily and I'm about ready to implode from it.

  8. Hercules is only slightly more pathetic than Sentinels - 250% boost! And I just dropped 14 ultimate cards for all crap rares with not a raider card in sight. Bullshit!

    1. Yeah...Wasn't expecting that time of ass violation.

I know a LOT of people who purchased Sentinels for 10PP each who are very upset.

  9. I'm just as pissed about the Ultimates - If you're going to make the good raid cards only available from card packs then fucking drop them when I use the packs! I'm wondering if they have a penalty on drop chances for accounts that haven't spent cash.

    1. Nope. Just random odds. I have a friend who pulled a UR from his first card pack when starting the game.

It's the nature of Gacha games.

  10. Hiya. So I got this ur friendly neighborhood spiderman and a guy has offered me two ur hf ghostriders(one proper one improper both fully mastered and leveled), an improper ur ms marvel, a base ss black cat, and a base ss daredevil(which I need cause I have a base already.) My offense is currently all maxed and proper fn spidey, ss arachne,ur hf ghost rider, ss human torch, and ur anihilus. So overall it would go up notably. My defense is improper ur daredevil, 2 nova's, ss daredevil, and anihilus. So it would go up remarkably:) But I'm just scared in the long run it will be a bad choice and I'll eventually find another ur spidey and be mad. Should I make the trade? Am I stupid not to? It's hurting my brain.

    1. Let me see:

      1 UR Spiderman...about 150PP still pretty steady.

It's actually not a bad offer but those improper kill it for me. I would almost never trade if improper are involved. That's me though.
